Fat Loss 4 Idiots
Who you calling an idiot? Oh, yourself. Don’t be that harsh on yourself, fat loss is pretty simple once you get the basics.
Fat or weight loss comes down to one pretty simple thing. Your calorie burn per day or per week must be more than your calorie intake.
So what’s calorie intake and burn?
Calorie intake is the foods and drinks that you have each day. Most food and drinks have some calories associated with it. The intake side of it is a total “calorie count” of what you put into your system. For example: If you eat an apple and drink a glass of full cream milk for breakfast, a salad sandwich which a coke for lunch then a Big Mac meal for dinner, your calorie count for the day is going to be around the 2000 mark.

Calorie burn is how many calories your body burns throughout the course of the day. How do you burn calories? Well, something as simple as sitting can burn calories, but not as much as say going for a 1 hour walk. Calorie burn is increased by exercise. This doesn’t mean going to the gym for 5 hours a day and working your body into the ground, that’s not realistic. What you see on TV doesn’t always flow into reality.
So now we know what calorie intake versus calorie burn is, lets look at the Fat Loss side of things.
If you’re eating a lot of fast foods, fried food etc.. then sitting on the couch all day watching television, you’re intake is far more than your burn. Guess what? That will over time increase your weight. That’s not what we want to achieve here is it? That’s fat gain for idiots.
Firstly, you need to look at what you eat. If your exercise routine per day/week is minimal, then the best thing to do is start eating right. Lower your calorie intake per day. What’s got a lower calorie intake out of a big serving of fish and chips fried in vegetable oil compared to a ham and salad sandwich on wholemeal bread? Yep, the ham and salad sandwich. See, you’re not the idiot you first thought when looking into fat loss. Does that mean you have to have a staple diet of ham and salad sandwiches on wholemeal? Not at all. It’s all about looking at what you eat and start substituting high calorie foods with lower calorie, healthier foods. Diets are a good way of starting and they don’t all involve rabbit food.
Secondly, exercise for idiots. As stated above, exercise doesn’t mean going to the gym and running yourself into the ground on a treadmill. While the gym is a good start where you can get professional help on a program, its not the be-all-end-all. Something as simple as walking for a ½ hour a day can be helpful, one hour is even better. Throwing the ball outside with your kids, doing labour intensive work in the backyard, giving the house a good dust are all forms of exercise which burn fat/calories. Exercise doesn’t have to be some torturous thing, it can be mixed up to involve family, housework, all sorts of things.
Hopefully this has given you the basics to start on you fat loss journey and made you realise your not such an idiot as first thought, it can be pretty simple to get started.
