Bitter Orange. Most claim that it increases the amount of calories that you burn, while some call it a substitute for ephedra. This means that this can cause some of the health problems that were caused by ephedra.
Caffeine. Close to, every dietary supplement contains caffeine, although not all of them put it on the label. Other sources of caffeine are many and one of the most common is green tea extract.

Chromium. They claim that this builds muscle out of fat. Chromium is unknown to cause weight loss, but is safe.
Conjugulated Linoleic Acic (CLA). Has claims to it, that it builds muscle, while decreasing appetite and reducing body fat. Some of the side effects that people experience are diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal problems.

This is not a comprehensive list of ingredients, but this should give you an overall idea of the things that are contained within some of the weight loss supplements. Always check on the ingredients before you decide to buy. The FDA does not regulate the sales of dietary supplements, so they can be on the market with false claims as to their safety and effectiveness without the approval of the FDA.
Sometimes there is no real way of knowing what you are taking. Some of the manufacturers do not list all of the ingredients that make up the products. In addition, the mixture of a large amount of herbs within the body is unknown as to how they effect your body either. It’s always good to be aware of what you are taking, due to the potential dangers they contain. You never know what, if any, allergies you may have with one of the ingredients as well.
Always make sure that you read the labels carefully before buying any kind of product. You can always ask a pharmacist or doctor what their input is. It is important to remember that there is no miracle for weight loss, it is something that takes commitment and work.
